The winger joined City Stars on loan from KCB during the mid-season transfer window.

Nairobi City Stars’ on-loan winger, James Mazembe is grateful for the opportunity to redeem his career at the club having signed from KCB during the mid-season transfer window.

Mazembe had struggled to break into Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno’s set-up and decided that a fresh start at a temporary home would be best to help him revive his career and confidence playing in the top flight.

“So far so good at Nairobi City Stars where I have the perfect chance to get back to my best,” Mazembe told the club website, “The technical bench and the rest of the team have fully put their support behind me and I can only see myself rise,” he added.

“With all the support and enabling environment expect to see more assists, and goals, from me before the season ends.”

Mazembe made an immediate impact in his Simba wa Nairobi debut against Mathare United in late March 2023 where he provided an assist for Newton Ochieng to score his maiden top-flight goal.

The former Kariobangi Sharks midfielder has featured in nine games and clocked 260 minutes so far, starting two times and making a further seven appearances off the bench.

He has now registered a total of three assists against Mathare, his former side Kariobangi Sharks, and Ulinzi Stars.

Mazembe launched his Premier League career in 2017 and would then go on to feature for Kariobangi Sharks before joining KCB FC.

Mazembe has also featured two times for the Kenya National Team..
