Mbabazi, however, did not explain his conspicuous absence from the touchline at Kitende during their loss to Vipers.

Coach Charles Livingstone has quashed rumours linking him out of Arua Hill as the club suffered their worst-ever start to a StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.

The Kongolo have lost all their three matches, including a 1-0 loss to Busoga United and 2-1 to BUL at their new home in Adjumani and a 2-0 defeat away to Vipers in Kitende.

“The team has a bad start towards the beginning of this season but hoping to bounce back; we have new players, we have a few problems which we hope to solve soon and new stadium, players need time to acclimatize to,” Mbabazi said in a statement posted on X.

“Even last year, we lost four consecutive matches but finished in fourth position,’ he continues.

During the same period in their debut season in 2021/22, the club had collected four points from a win and a draw, while they had seven last season, including a 3-1 win over KCCA.

Set record straight

Pulse Sports had confirmed in March that the coach was in talks with BUL FC to replace Alex Isabirye, but the move hit a snag.

This website also revealed that Mbabazi had contacted Gaddafi to take over from Wasswa Bbosa, but David Mutono had already beaten him to the job.

“I have heard people saying I have left the club or I'm going to leave,” he added before dispelling the rumours with a promise.

“To set the record straight, I'm tired of moving to clubs and want to settle at Arua Hill SC.”

Mbabazi, however, did not explain his conspicuous absence from the touchline at Kitende during their loss to Vipers.

Against BUL, he was seemingly irritated and frustrated with his players in front of the cameras.

Ownership puzzle

Mbabazi also tickled the Kongolo fans and further threw the club’s ownership puzzle in Limbo when he claimed he was one of the owners.

“…and by the way, I'm now one of the owners of the club. I'm going to be there in good times and bad times.

“I thank the people of Adjumani for welcoming us, and I think going to Adjumani is the best decision we made this season,” he summed.

The question of Arua Hill's ownership almost threw the club's future into limbo.

Arua Hill will return to action on October 19th with a home tie against another Jinja team, Gaddafi FC in the Uganda Premier League.
