Kylian Mbappe is one of the many to take to social media in support of Romelu Lukaku after the racist abuse he faced from a section of Juventus fans in the Coppa Italia 1-1 draw between Inter and the Old Lady.

Lukaku grabbed a late equaliser against Juve, and his celebration saw him gesture 'shut up' to fans of the Black and Whites who had subjected him to racist insults during the game.

The celebration saw Lukaku get controversially sent off, and today, he took to Instagram to speak against racism. Subsequently, many have come to his support, including France captain Kylian Mbappe.

Following the incident, both Inter and Juventus have publicly condemned the insults Lukaku was subjected to, and after the Belgian record scorer's post on Instagram, a spate of posts in support followed.

Kylian Mbappe was one such; using his Instagram story, he posted a picture of Lukaku doing the celebration and used the caption, "2023 and still the same problems. But we won't let you do it. ALL AGAINST RACISM," according to translations by GFFN.

The two-time World Cup finalist has also been subjected to the act of hate. He was racially abused after missing a penalty as France were knocked out of Euro 2020 by Switzerland in the Round of 16.

Lukaku's post

The striker took to his Instagram account today to condemn the action, and the recurrent nature of it, while calling for the league to take stronger measures against racists and racism.

Lukaku claimed to have faced such ill-treatment in his first stint at Inter in 2019, as well as during the game against Juventus and says if steps are not taken to curb the act of hate, the beautiful game of football risks being ruined.

"History repeats itself. I've been through it in 2019... and 2023 again,” Lukaku said, via his Instagram.

“I hope the league really takes real action this time because this beautiful game should be enjoyed by all... Thanks for the messages of support. F*cking racism."

Inter will host Juventus at the Guiseppe Meazza on the 6th of this month, for the second-leg of their Coppa Italia clash against Juventus.
