The Ankole Lions sit second on the table but coach Sadiq Ssempijja knows that he needs more than Kitegenyi’s goals to achieve his targets.

Mbarara City with 27 goals, possessed the second-most lethal attack force in the StarTimes FUFA Big League in the first round.

Veteran striker Henry Kitegenyi accounted for almost half of those goals, he scored 13.

While Kitegenyi scored, the defensive line with the third-best record, secured the points that kept them roaring.

The Ankole Lions sit second on the table but coach Sadick Sempigi knows that he needs more than Kitegenyi’s goals to achieve his targets.

“We have to get goals from different sources to complement him if we are to achieve our targets,” Sempigi told Pulse Sports ahead of the second round that kicks off Thursday.

Additions

The two are Bronson Nsubuga from Blacks Power and James Angu from Soltilo Bright Stars.

“There’s stiff competition for promotion and that means we need goals. We have added two more attackers to supplement Kitegenyi and believe they will push us,” he added.

Nsubuga was part of the Blacks Power team that won the second division title last season.

Mbarara have 30 points, one below leaders Kitara and the same as National Enterprise Corporation and Police.

They travel to Masindi on Thursday to pursue their promotion campaign against Booma. Mbarara won the reverse fixture 3-1. Booma are eighth on the log with 19 points.
