Mbarara City and NEC just like the rest have been in good form at home than away in the StarTimes FUFA Big League.

This StarTimes FUFA Big League season has brought out very strong teams playing at their home while very weak away.

The remaining five match days starting with week 26 on Thursday, will present the final test on who gets promoted to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League next season.

Therefore, the top four have their work cut out as they look to a routine finish at home as they seek to step up on the road.

Bumpy road

Kitara is the only one of the top four that will be travelling on Thursday as they visit fellow former topflight side Kyetume in Nakisunga.

Coach Sam Ssimbwa has already stressed the need for fans to turn up and support the team at home as he “tries to fight for some points away”.

They’re facing a Kyetume side that has been struggling but arose in the last two games picking six points that catapulted them to ninth with only three points behind the fifth position.

Home base

National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) will be eyeing the top spot when they return to their Bugolobi Coffee Ground following their 2-1 win away to Northern Gateway in Lira last week.

Kitara lead the table with 48 points, NEC comes second with a pointless while Mbarara City closes the promotion slots with 45. Police, who are not in action until Sunday, has 44.

NEC has lost only one game at home against Kitara and will be hoping to maintain their home form against a Booma side that is all but safe.

At Kakyeka, Mbarara City will pray that Kitara faulters away as they target maximum points against Luweero United.

Relegation battle

Ndejje University host Soroti City in a relegation six-pointer at the Arena of Vision. The students have 31 points, two above relegation, while their visitors sit deep inside the danger zone.

Elsewhere in Mbale, Kataka will play host to Northern Gateways, who are trapped at the bottom of the pit. Any result other than a win will confirm Northern Gateways' fate.
