FKFPL All square between title contenders Tusker and Gor Mahia
Tusker maintain their lead at the top of the table after drawing with Gor Mahia in a title-deciding and very entertaining match.
“It was a very tight game,” he said, “both teams play very contrasting styles of football. We (usually) try to play while Tusker goes long, but both teams showed some really good stuff and wlll be happy with the outcome of the game,” he added.
“It was a big challenge. I thought we created some chances, we had some free kick opportunities, Austin (Odhiambo) had a shot away in the first half and there was a situation where we counter attacked but Boniface Omondi and Peter Lwasa were unfortunately on one side of the pitch at the time so there were limited options.
‘A draw is probably a fair result and I know that we do not have VAR, but it is a definite red card for Otieno. He elbowed Dennis Ng’ang’a not once, but twice off the ball. We called the referee’s attention the first time to it and then it happened again five seconds later. If the linesman had seen it or VAR was active, it would have been a definite suspension.

FKFPL Levin Odhiambo and Mike Oduor: The dynamic duo leading Tusker to a double
The two left wing wizards have formed a telepathic understanding that is bearing fruit for Robert Matano's men who are chasing league and cup success
“Another incident was Momanyi (Charles) the (shirt number) 27 on Omala (Benson). He has a scar from the eyebrow down to the nip of the shoulder from fingernails scratching his face. When he was down for a long time receiving medical attention, it was because of that. It is definitely a red card!
“There are alot of things we need to do in Kenya and I do not necessarily blame the center referee for not seeing it given it is a high pace game, but these are two definite red cards which would have changed the outcome of the game.”
Gor Mahia remain second on 64 points, one behind Tusker with three league games to spare. Kogalo needs to win the league to stand a chance of qualifying for continental competition next season.
