Gor Mahia will be seeking to get back to winning ways when they face an angry Shabana team nursing the wounds of their defeat to Ulinzi Stars on Wednesday.
Gor Mahia head coach Johnathan McKinstry is expecting a “colourful” afternoon when his charges face Shabana in a high-stakes encounter that will take place at the Kasarani Stadium whilst also being televised.
K’Ogalo are second in the league standings on 17 points, having been held to a frustrating draw by Bidco United on Saturday, while Shabana’s pride was dented after being whipped 4-0 by Ulinzi Stars.
Speaking before the match, McKinstry said he expects a match “with alot of energy” and has warned his charges to be wary of a wounded lion in Shabana.
“We are expecting alot of energy,” McKinstry said. “Shabana will be very disappointed with their result at the weekend against Ulinzi but that does not give a profile of their season,” he added.

FKFPL Crunch Gor Mahia versus Shabana clash to be beamed live on TV
Gor Mahia will face Shabana in a high stakes FKFPL clash at the Kasarani Stadium at 4 PM with the game set to be broadcasted live on Azam TV.
“Prior to their game against Ulinzi, in their previous games, they had scored six, conceded seven, so the games were all quite low scoring.
“They’ve kept it tight, they have been in games. They obviously beat Tusker at Kasarani and so we are expecting them to come fighting back.”
McKinstry believes Shabana will be playing with a lot of pride and passion in their next match, which will make it difficult for them, but he is quietly optimistic his players will be up to the task.

FOOTBALL Gor Mahia’s piling injury list add to McKinstry’s fears ahead of Shabana and Police tests
Gor Mahia coach Johnathan McKinstry might be forced to do without three of his key players with games against Shabana and Kenya Police lined up in four days
“The minimum people expect when you have had a bad result is to come out and play with pride and passion and all the Shabana supporters as well as their technical bench will be expecting that from their players and that is what we expect to win as well.
“It is a short turnaround from the weekend but we are expecting a good game tomorrow and we know our guys are confident going into it.
“Shabana will bring their supporters and K’Ogalo will bring their supporters, so we are expecting a colorful day.”
The match will kick off at 4 PM EAT.
