Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has given his opinion on Lionel Messi and the best player in history.
Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that Lionel Messi is not the greatest in history, despite leading Argentina to World Cup triumph in Qatar.
Messi had a phenomenal tournament in Qatar, putting himself in contention to win the Ballon d'Or ahead of Manchester City's Erling Haaland.
In a press conference, as quoted by GOAL, Ancelotti spoke on the best players in history.
“Messi the best in history? He’s a great player but I can’t say who’s been the best.
“There have been so many wonderful players… Maradona, Di Stéfano, Cruyff.. I don’t know.”
Messi is the favourite to win his 8th Ballon d'Or but must withstand competition from Haaland.
