A few weeks ago, UEFA released a list of nominees for the Men's player of the year and the men's coach of the year.

The men's player of the year nominees were Kevin De Bruyne (Belgium & Manchester City), Erling Haaland (Norway & Manchester City) and Lionel Messi (Argentina & Paris, now at Inter Miami).

While the nominees for the men's coach of the year were Josep Guardiola (Manchester City), Simone Inzaghi (Inter) and Luciano Spalletti (Napoli).

However, Messi missed out on the award as Haaland won the men's player of the year for the first time and Guardiola won the men’s coach of the year.
