FOOTBALL Micho leaves Uganda Cranes job
Sredojevic, a Serbian coach who was serving his second term as the Cranes coach, still had one year remaining on his contract, having signed a three-year deal in July 2021.
The coach who launched his coaching career on the continent with Ugandan giant SC Villa has worked in the country for a total of ten years.
He is the last coach to have won the league for SC Villa and will be remembered for ending Uganda Cranes’ 39-year absence at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2017.

OPINION FUFA must take a risk on local coaches to manage Uganda Cranes
Uganda has had Micho, paid him a reported salary of $25,000 and still missed out on qualifying for the AFCON two editions in a row.
The coach, who seemed irritated by a section of commentators who were advocating for his exit, outlined his achievements, questioning whether he deserved the harsh treatment.
“After seeing my records winning with SC Villa five trophies in three seasons and my achievements in Uganda Cranes and ten years of service to Ugandan football, do I really need to go out of this country like a dog, or do I have a reason to walk with steps of a proud man?” Micho rhetorically asked in an audio that he shared.
The coach went on to outline his statistics and achievements as follows (verbatim)
