Mido Hits Out at Salah for Prioritizing Liverpool Over National Duty

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's star forward, is currently in the midst of a rehab stint, aiming for a triumphant return to the Africa Cup of Nations.

However, his journey has not been without controversy, as his decision to return to Liverpool for treatment has drawn criticism from fellow Egyptian football star Mido, who took a jab at Salah on social media.

Mido's Sarcastic Swipe at Salah

The tension escalated when Mido, the former Egyptian football icon, reacted to a photo of Salah undergoing rehabilitation at Liverpool's training facility.

Known for his outspoken nature, Mido sarcastically commented on Twitter, as reported by Daily Star, "Oh, these exercises are so dirty and rigid, it is difficult to do them except in Liverpool."

This jibe comes as Salah, who has never clinched the AFCON title with Egypt, watches his team from afar, having secured their spot in the last 16 of the tournament.

Klopp Defends Salah's Loyalty

Amid this brewing controversy, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp stepped in to defend Salah's decision to return to Liverpool for treatment.

Emphasizing the forward's commitment to both club and country, Klopp stated, "If he stays in Africa and they can't do the proper treatment, it will just delay everything, especially for Egypt if they go through the tournament.

We bring him here not because we want to take him away from Egypt but just to offer the best medical treatment. That is all we want."

He further reinforced Salah's loyalty, adding, "If somebody questions the loyalty of Mo Salah, they should ask themselves if their loyalty is right because Mo Salah is definitely the most loyal Egyptian I've met in my life."

Klopp's unwavering support highlights the complex balance between club obligations and national pride in professional football.
