The Cranes are third in Group C, level on four points with second-placed Tanzania.

Uganda Cranes winger Milton Karisa believes the team’s friendly match with DR Congo on Wednesday will give them the perfect test ahead of Sunday’s must-win encounter against Algeria.

The Cranes will play their penultimate game of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers on Sunday, and only victory will be sufficient to keep the qualification dream alive.

But before that, the friendly with Congo in Cameroon will give head coach Milutin Sredojevic a chance to try out a few things before serious business.

“We are preparing for the game ahead, and I believe we are ready,” Karisa said in an interview.

“We are just praying to God that everything moves according to the way we have planned,” he added.

The Cranes are third in Group C, level on four points with second-placed Tanzania.

With two games to play, the three other teams in the race still have the opportunity to join already-qualified Algeria in the finals.

Niger, who are bottom of the group, have two points and can turn their fortunes around in the last two games.

“The game against DRC will give us a perfect picture of how the game on Sunday will be.

“We have to be committed. We have to be ready.”

Karisa scored Uganda’s first goal of the qualifiers in the 1-1 draw with Niger but missed the double-header against Tanzania through injury.

Now fresh from helping Vipers win their first-ever League and Cup double, the winger will be hoping to get back into Micho’s starting lineup on Sunday.
