Uganda has had Micho, paid him a reported salary of $25,000 and still missed out on qualifying for the AFCON two editions in a row.
“Our Caykur Rizespor added Jonjo Shelvey, who plays for Nottingham Forest, one of the English Premier League Teams, to its squad,” the club announced on their website.
“The 31-year-old English central midfielder who passed his health check signed a one-year loan deal.”
Shelvey, 31, made his debut on Saturday, coming off the bench to help the side claim a 2-1 late win against Miya’s former side Konyaspor, a game the latter didn’t feature in.

Jonjo Shelvey’s career started at Charlton Athletic in 2008 before moving to Liverpool in 2010.
However, he struggled with injuries before stints at Swansea City and Newcastle, where he became a crowd favourite.
After seven years at St James Park, the England international, who is capped six times, moved to Nottingham Forest, making eight appearances before switching to Rizespor on loan until the end of the season.

Farouk Miya’s seven-year stay in Europe with several clubs like Standard Liege and in the Turkish top flight has seen him play alongside prominent players like Moussa Djenepo, a Malian international and former Southampton star.
Miya plays alongside Yannick Bolasie, a former Everton, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace winger who also features for DR. Congo, amassing 50 caps in as many games.
Rizespor is currently unbeaten in the third spot in the Turkish Super League with 10 points, picking up three wins in as many games.
