The Colombian expressed his desire to move to Arsenal following a sizable bid from the North London club and was isolated from training with the group.

As a consequence of not training, the midfielder was uninvolved in Brighton’s FA Cup triumph over Liverpool.

Brighton rejected multiple bids from the Premier League leaders and were adamant that Moises Caicedo was not for sale in the middle of the season as they had their ambitions, for which Caicedo is important.

The Gunners diversified their focus in the closing days of the transfer window and went for Chelsea’s Joginho, whom they signed.

Following the close of the transfer window, Caicedo is now set to be at Brighton until at least the end of the season. To that end, the defensive midfielder has returned to training.

A possible move for Caicedo in the summer

Arsenal may have gone for and gotten Jorginho following the failure to reach an agreement with Brighton for Caicedo; however, reports suggest the Gunners have not called it quits on their pursuit of the Colombian.

According to multiple reports, Arsenal intended to make West Ham's Declan Rice their primary summer transfer target. Following the development of the Caicedo saga, it is said that the North London club plan to sign both players in the summer.
