Kisugu United advanced to the round of 32 after shocking Maroons to a 2-1 win. They went on to eliminate Paidha 4-2 in post-match shootouts that followed a 1-all draw but the West Nile regional league side had gotten a tip.

Paidha Black Angels’ name will be in the draw for the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 after FUFA ruled in their favour after petitioning Kisugu United’s win.

Kisugu United advanced to the round of 32 after shocking Maroons to a 2-1 win. They went on to eliminate Paidha 4-2 in post-match shootouts that followed a 1-all draw but the West Nile regional league side had gotten a tip.

“Paidha Black Angels SC was reinstated to the Stanbic Uganda Cup competition 2022/23 season after a successful appeal with FUFA CDP against Kisugu United FC for use of an ineligible player during their Round of 32 fixture on 17th February 2023,” the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel ruled.

The ruling comes just a day after the same panel annulled BUL’s 1-0 win over SC Villa and ordered a replay.

The Zombo District outfit will now await the draws for the round of 16 to be held on Tuesday morning at the FUFA House.

Paidha reached the finals of the 2017 edition losing to KCCA in Arua.

Teams qualified for the round of 16

KCCA, Vipers, Express, Bright Stars, Onduparaka, Wakiso Giants, Police, Ndejje University, Adjumani T/C, Calvary, Mbarara City, Kitara, Bunyaruguru, Paidha Black Angels and Kiyinda Boys.
