Mbeya City coach Abdallah Mubiru would be interested in rejoining KCCA FC for a second spell if the Lugogo club can present an offer before him, Pulse Sports understands.

The KCCA head coach position has been vacant since the resignation of Morley Byekwaso in March this year, and Mubiru finds himself among the top contenders for the role.

Thirteen-time Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC have been without a permanent coach, with Jackson Mayanja serving as interim coach until the end of last season.

However, the club is determined to secure a new coach before the start of the preseason and has reportedly compiled a list of four potential candidates, including Mubiru, Sam Ssimbwa, Mike Mutebi, and Jackson Mayanja.

Mubiru's current contract with Mbeya City FC is set to expire at the end of the season, and he has garnered interest from other Tanzanian clubs who admire his coaching methods and the style of play he has implemented with limited resources.

However, the prospect of returning to the prestigious KCCA job has caught Mubiru's attention, given its stature and historical significance in Ugandan football.

"The KCCA job is an exciting one. It is a top job, and any coach would like to be in such a position. But I still have a contract with Mbeya and have to respect that relationship," Mubiru shared with a confidant within his inner circle.

The KCCA FC board faces a dilemma in choosing between a coach who can deliver instant results and a coach who can focus on building a long-term project that ensures sustained success.

Mubiru's track record demonstrates his ability to manage such a project effectively, provided he receives adequate support from the club's management and stakeholders.

Mubiru has prior experience with KCCA, having taken on the role for a six-month period during the 2014/2015 season.

Unfortunately, his tenure saw club fans show turn against him as the Kasasiro Boys lost their league title, and suffered a 3-1 defeat to rivals SC Villa in the Uganda Cup final.

However, Mubiru's familiarity with the club and his understanding of its culture and aspirations make him an attractive candidate for the vacant coaching position.
