Ulinzi created a flurry of opportunities but it was not enough to get them all three points against Muhoroni Youth.
Ulinzi Stars huffed and puffed but were unable to get all three points as they shared the spoils in a barren draw with Muhoroni Youth in an FKF Premier League match that took place at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon.
Muhoroni remain in 17th place on 27 points, one adrift from safety, while Ulinzi Stars now are 12th on 32 points, but still know their safety in the league is far from guaranteed.
Ulinzi were the better team from the get-go and nearly took the lead in the seventh minute when Lucas Maina set up Mark Bikokwa, but the speedy striker hit the ball right onto the palms of Muhoroni keeper Michael Kagiri.

Benson Omala's lone goal puts Gor Mahia on the brink of FKF Premier League title
Gor Mahia dominated the game against Shabana FC securing a narrow win to edge closer to the FKFPL title.
Maina would then find Mutheli Yakeen again a couple of moments later down the right flank, but his resultant attempt hit the side netting as Ulinzi were finding their groove.
Bikokwa would have another chance yet again in the 20th minute when Boniface Muchiri set him up well with an inswinging cross, but his attempt was not good enough to beat Kagiri.
This would be the first of a flurry of chances that he missed. In the 29th minute, Yakeen set him up again with a left-footed cross from the left wing before he met it well with a header, which could only kiss the crossbar. As Ulinzi continued huffing and puffing, they found themselves vulnerable on the break a couple of times.

AFC Leopards legend urges FKF Premier League clubs to end Gor Mahia's dominance
A former AFC Leopards player urges Kenyan football teams to challenge Gor Mahia's dominance and revitalize league competition.
Muhoroni Youth’s Kevin Okoth would be the one making long range attempts on both occasions, which forced Ulinzi custodian Michael Wanyika into making a couple of good saves, first in the 35th minute and another in the 41st minute.
Ulinzi did create some more chances they did not take, and both teams went into the break level.
After the break, The Soldiers continued plugging away, creating so many chances and not taking them, and it had to force Muhoroni Youth, who are bravely fighting against relegation, into deploying time-wasting tactics to try and kill time.

Gor Mahia coach McKinstry nears finalizing Gambia deal as contract talks intensify
Gor Mahia's Jonathan McKinstry is close to finalizing a two-year deal as Gambia's head coach ahead of World Cup qualifiers.
Muchiri missed arguably the biggest chance in the dying minutes of the game when he attempted to take matters into his own hands from the left, but his attempt went wide over the bar, which was easier to score than miss in stoppage time.
In the end, both sides would have to share the spoils, but Muhoroni will feel the more fortunate of both sides to have walked away with something at this stage of the season.
