Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC married off Wakiso Hills FC in a bid to have a women's team as a requisite for their continental engagements.
Wakiso has only recently joined the top flight; the FUFA Women's Super League from the FUFA Women's Elite League having finished as runners-up behind She Maroons FC.
Upon making the historical feat, Vipers President, Lawrence Mulindwa paid tribute to the Elite League pioneers.
"On behalf of Vipers SC, I wish to officially congratulate you, on a truly remarkable historic achievement of being promoted to the top tier," the celebrated educationist said in a letter.
"This achievement is a testament of hard work, devotion, passion, teamwork, and discipline of coaches, players, management, and the entire Wakiso Hills community."
In the acclamation, Mulindwa pledged support and close working relations with the League newbies.
"Vipers looks forward to your overwhelming victory as a great platform from which further football achievements will be obtained."
"We commit ourselves to continue closely working with you as partners in football development," the honorary FUFA President added.
For the second year running, Vipers will represent Uganda in the CAF Champions League having clinched the 2022/23 Uganda Premier League title.
Wakiso Hills was founded in 2010 and became one of the first teams to play in the inaugural Women's Elite League in the 2014/15 season.
