What exactly happened? Inside the chaos that erupted at Machakos Stadium during Gor Mahia’s clash against Murang’a Seal
Chaos erupted at Machakos Stadium when Murang'a Seal equalised in the dying minutes of their clash against Gor Mahia which resulted in a 2-2 draw.
Disappointed Gor Mahia fans directed their frustrations at their own team, with some targeting the coaching staff.
Reflecting on the incident, Waithira expressed concern over the growing intensity among fans unable to accept a draw.
"I don’t even know what happened because we were just focused on the game. In football, you can win, draw, or lose. We managed a draw, although we expected to win but that’s how it is. Unfortunately, our opponents seemed to come in with a ‘win-at-all-costs’ mindset, which is concerning if we can’t accept the outcome, whether it’s a draw or a loss,” he told Pulse Sports in a post match interview.
Waithira, while expressing gratitude for the fans' support, urged for restraint.
