Coach David Mutono has always been called upon to save a situation at Kyetume and Tooro United as an interim coach and Buganda Province. Still, Gaddafi has now trusted him with the task of guiding the team in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League this season.

The coach arrives at a team that is undergoing a transition after a massive exodus saw the team’s top players leave for their rivals and abroad.

Their former coach, Wasswa Bbosa, crossed to Mbarara City while FUFA banned their captain, Andrew Waiswa and another player due to cases of manipulation.

Mutono has been tasked to guide a team of largely junior team graduates but believes he is ready for the task.

“I have worked with young players for a long time, so this is just another of those tasks- that I’m very ready to take head-on,” he told Pulse Sports.

“My work will rotate entirely on building a team that will be competitive in the league because the main task is to remain, but as a person, I have to show what I’m capable of,” he added.

The coach and his team will be boosted by the fact that Gaddafi has returned to their Gaddafi Arena, where the team had built a fortress in the lower divisions and their debut season.
