Mutoola Beach Soccer Club made their intentions in this season’s UBSA Beach Soccer League known when they held on to beat two-time champion MUBS 3-1 to take an early command of the table.
Jinja Lions on the other side has made some improvements with the addition of Simon Ojera, Herbert Onyango and Fredrick Ngalo. The team has promised to be a force to reckon with this season and is tied with Mutoola with six points at the top.
The two meet on Sunday at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru but Mutoola’s head coach Salim Muwonge says his team is focussing on rebuilding and the bigger picture but not their Sunday opponents.
“My focus is not solely on Jinja Lions but how we play and handle our games in general,” Muwonge said.
“We won the first two matches but we didn’t play the way we want. I am trying to bring something new that the players are still learning so, we have to keep on training them. I hope that they pick it up and improve in each and every game,” the coach emphasizes.
Muwonge’s boys will conclude the day with another fixture against MS Sand Lions later in the evening as Jinja Lions face Kampala International University.
