It was a Nelson Senkatuka show in the first round as the forward netted a brace in Bright Stars' comfortable 2-0 win over the Red Eagles at Wankulukuku.
Soltilo Bright Stars FC will dream of a rare Uganda Premier League double over seven-time champions Express FC when the two meet on Tuesday at the Kavumba Recreation Grounds.
It was a Nelson Senkatuka show in the first round as the forward netted a brace in Bright Stars' comfortable 2-0 win over the Red Eagles at Wankulukuku.
And, ahead of tomorrow, the Kavumba side's head coach, Asaph Mwebaze, is confident a double is possible.
"We beat them in the first round at their home, they haven't won here in a long time, and we want to keep it that," he confidently said to the club media.
"Hopefully, we can play our best game, our 'A' game and do the things we normally do right, and if we do that, we will be good for the three points."
Despite winning their last two matches, including a quarterfinal victory against KCCA FC, Bright Stars have lost their past two home league games.
They suffered defeats to URA FC (2-0) and a 1-0 to Gaddafi FC. Mwebaze has expressed his hunger to turn the fortunes around.
"The last two wins against Onduparaka and KCCA have given us a certain belief that we want to use to win against Express for a home win that hasn't come in the league for a long time."
Only a point separates the two sides, with Express sitting ninth with 28 points while Bright Stars are 10th with 27.
Dating back to 2013, matches between the two are almost always tightly contested, with Express edging out with five victories.
Bright Stars have picked four, while a vast nine encounters have ended with shared spoils.
Express has not won at Kavumba against tomorrow's hosts in over six years. Their last was a 2-0 win in 2017.
