The former Maroons and Onduparaka FC head coach also credited his side's execution of set pieces with Omony Denis Kaka scoring two freekicks, adding that they must keep the momentum going in the season.
Soltilo Bright Stars head coach Asaph Mwebaze was one of the happy faces at Kavumba Recreation grounds as his charges picked up a hard-fought 3-1 win against Blacks Power on Friday.
The win was the home side's sixth of the season, but also their first at home since December 22nd, and Asaph says it was a much-needed win after a while without playing at home.
"It was the first time to play at home since December, so it's been a while, and the fans wanted this too; although it took us a while to adjust to their (Blacks Power) style of play, we later got going," Mwebaze said after the game.
The former Maroons and Onduparaka FC head coach also credited his side's execution of set pieces with Omony Denis Kaka scoring two freekicks, adding that they must keep the momentum going in the season.
"We also executed our set pieces well, but for me going forward, we have to keep the momentum going even in difficult games; it gives us the impetus to believe that we can win our next games, and before you know it, your racking up wins," he noted.
Emmanuel Peter Loki is one of the best players at Soltilo Bright Stars; the skilful, fast-paced winger has managed seven goals across all competitions, including a hat trick in the Uganda cup and crucial league goals against URA and KCCA FC.
Asaph Mwebaze adds that Loki's consistency this season has played an enormous role in the team's performance.
"Loki has been very consistent; he is probably one of our best players because he gives us a lot especially going forward; he is one of the players you can attribute our success to," Mwebaze said of the striker.
Next up for Soltilo Bright Stars is a Stanbic Uganda cup home game against Kiyinda Boys, but for now, Asaph Mwebaze's side sits sixth with 24 points on the log after 21 games.
