The Soweto giants have expressed interest in signing the Tunisian tactician, but discussions on who forms part of Nabi’s technical team remain the stumbling block.

Former Young Africans head coach Nabi Nasreddine’s future remains uncertain, especially with South African giants Kaizer Chiefs.

The Soweto giants have expressed interest in signing the Tunisian tactician, but discussions on who forms part of Nabi’s technical team remain the stumbling block.

According to TimesLive, a South African publication, the two parties met this past weekend as they continued to discuss the matter further. However, both parties still didn’t agree.

The issues at hand are that Nabi, 57 has certain technical staff members like an assistant and goalkeeper coach he would want to bring in, and Chiefs have to see if that’s compatible with existing employees and their futures.

Amidst all this, there is no indication that current Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane will be leaving the club after he guided Amakhosi to a 5th-place finish last season.

However, speculation about his future continues to mount each passing day. Kaizer Chiefs have now gone seven straight seasons without any silverware.

Nabi Nasreddine joined Tanzanian giants Young Africans in April 2021 and steered the side to back-to-back league cup doubles, including the charity shield, which in turn ended Simba’s dominance of four straight years.

The tactician also guided ‘Tiimu ya Wanainchi’ to their first-ever final of the CAF Confederation Cup, although they lost to Algeria’s USM Alger on the away goals rule.

Nabi's departure in Tanzania was met with a lot of criticism from Young Africans fans who demanded to know why he didn't renew his contract however;

Reports in Tanzania indicated that Nabi had expressed his desire not to renew his contract with Young Africans earlier during the season.

Despite talks with Kaizer Chiefs stalling, Nabi has other offers at hand.

Other clubs coached by Nabi, since he began his professional career in 2013, include Libya’s Al Ahy, Al Hilal in Sudan, Ismaily in Egypt and Al Merrick in Sudan.
