Simba wa Nairobi goalkeeper aspires to debut in the FKF Premier League, facing challenges and eager to prove himself in the top tier.

Nairobi City Stars goalkeeper Julius Ombacho remains determined to achieve his dream of making his debut in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL).

The talented shot-stopper, who joined the team during the offseason from third-tier side Launda Villa, acknowledges the hurdles that come with transitioning between levels but is unwavering in his commitment to earning his place in the league.

Ombacho, reflecting on his journey, stated, "I featured in Division One, and now I am in City Stars. So far, so good. Collectively, we are putting our best foot forward in the league. As for me, it has not been easy though. I came from the lower leagues, and getting here means there is lots of competition."

Despite the challenges, Ombacho is leaving no stone unturned in his quest for a top-flight debut.

"On a personal level, I am putting in the effort for consideration, to earn that debut top-flight game, and feature in many more league games," he emphasized.

Ombacho's determination has already earned him a spot in the Simba wa Nairobi squad this season, although he has yet to see action on the pitch, serving as an unused substitute in a match against Kenya Police.

City Stars found themselves in need of a goalkeeper after releasing two custodians who played for the club last season.

The duo of Stephen Njung'e and Jacob Osano departed, with Jacob Osano swiftly joining Sofapaka after leaving Simba wa Nairobi.

In another inspiring turn of events for City Stars, Pius Omachi is on the verge of making a triumphant return to the pitch after enduring months of injury-induced absence.

Omachi has been diligently undergoing rehabilitation since March 2023 after a debilitating injury prematurely ended his 2022-23 FKF Premier League season.

Omachi, known for his lightning-fast pace, made his Premier League debut against Gor Mahia on February 4th, 2023, at Kasarani.

He came on as a substitute in the second half of a matchday 14 tie, marking a significant milestone in his career.

However, fate dealt him a cruel blow as the very injury that had kept him on the bench for three consecutive games struck after that memorable day, sidelining him for an extended period.

City Stars' faithful fans can now anticipate Omachi's return to action, providing a much-needed boost to the team's attacking prowess.

Looking ahead, City Stars are set to resume action on Saturday as they host Kariobangi Sharks at Kasarani Annex.

Currently occupying the 13th position on the league table with 12 points, they face a formidable opponent in Sharks, who sit just one spot ahead in 12th place with 13 points.
