The Nigerian striker is currently on loan at Galatasaray, and Napoli are determined to cash in on him to fund key targets.
Osimhen’s departure key to Napoli’s plans
The 25-year-old Nigerian has reignited his form in Turkey, scoring six goals and providing three assists in just eight league games for Galatasaray, and is currently the Turkish side’s leading goalscorer.
Napoli had initially aimed to sell the forward permanently over the summer, but a deal fell through on deadline day.
Instead, he moved to the Turkish Super Lig on loan, with a revised Napoli contract that includes a €75 million release clause set to activate in January for select top clubs.
Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United have all been linked with the Nigerian international, and Napoli are hopeful that interest from these European giants will materialise into a concrete offer in January, allowing them to fund their winter transfers.
Napoli chase three potential signings including Nigerian born defender
Should Osimhen be sold, Napoli’s first priority is reportedly Lecce’s Nigerian-born fullback Patrick Dorgu. The 18-year-old Denmark international has impressed with his mature displays in defence, and his addition would provide a long-term solution for Napoli’s left-back position.
Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior is another target for Napoli, and the versatile defender, with significant Serie A experience, could seamlessly integrate into Napoli’s backline, strengthening Antonio Conte’s defensive options.
Napoli are also eyeing Empoli’s midfield prodigy Jacopo Fazzini. At just 21, Fazzini is considered both a present and future asset, capable of improving Napoli’s midfield immediately and for many years.
With their plans hinging on Osimhen’s sale, Napoli’s January window could be pivotal in shaping the second half of their season and beyond.
