Manchester United's summer transfer plans have taken a huge blow with Bayern Munich swooping in to steal their top transfer target
Napoli defender Kim Min Jae is reportedly set to turn down the advances of Premier League giants Manchester United for a move to German champions Bayern Munich as he looks to exit the Partenopei this summer.

The Korean defender has been the subject of speculation after a superb debut season in Serie A where he helped Napoli clinch the Scudetto for the first time and was named the best defender in the league.

Manchester United had been the frontrunners to sign Kim this summer after the defender reportedly chose them over Paris Saint-Germain who were also early suitors but cooled off their interest.
However, the emergence of Bayern Munich as a potential buyer has apparently put paid to Manchester United’s efforts to sign the Korean centre-back this summer, as he now seems intent on making the move to Bavaria.
Kim Min Jae set on Bayern Munich move
Reports from Foot Mercato suggest that the defender has already agreed on personal terms with the 33-time Bundesliga champions as he takes the next steps in his career.
Kim, whose €60 million release clause becomes active when the transfer window opens in July was reportedly won over by Bayern Munich’s salary offer of up to €10 million per season until 2018, while also preferring the scale of the Bavarians’ sporting project.
Bayern could lose one or both of Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez this summer, and they will see Kim as the perfect alternative in central defence for the pair.
