Nigeria Withdraw from Beach Soccer of Nation because of funds
Nigeria Beach Soccer Association (NBSA) has regretted not participating in the 2022 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in Mozambique.
The Association, in a communique released after its second Annual general meeting on Sunday, pledged to come back strong and continue to fly the country’s Flag at International Competition.
The Communique said further that they continue to support the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to ensure success for the super sand eagles.
According to the communique, “The Congress regrets the failure of the National Beach soccer Team (Super Sand Eagles) to feature at the last African Cup of Nations in Vilankulo, Mozambique.
“The Association pledges its continued commitment to complement the NFF on its mandates, it hopes that more would be done collaboratively to ensure that the Super Sand Eagles not only qualify for future international engagements but emerge victoriously, such as the 2023 FIFA Beach soccer World Cup scheduled for Dubai and its African qualifiers that shall be held before this global event.”

The Nigeria Super Sand Eagles did not participate in the 2022 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations after the country withdrew from the competition because of a lack of funds.
The town of Vilankulos in Mozambique hosted the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations, which was tagged Mozambique 2022 between October 21 to 28.
The championship served as the World Cup qualification to pick teams to represent Africa at the 2023 Beach Soccer World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
Senegal won the championship, their seventh title and fourth consecutive trophy.
NBSA calls state to bid for events
Meanwhile, the Beach soccer league coordinator, Mahmud Hadeji, called on states to submit their expression of interest to bid for the Association’s competition in the year.
The communique continued, “The CEO/League Coordinator; Mahmud Hadeji presented the proposed 2023 NBSL season calendar for Round 1 (April), Round 2 (May), Round 3 (June), and Super Finals (July). And it was announced that Host Centers are open for bidding. Interested states are to submit an EOI (Expression of Interest) to the Secretariat no later than the last day of the first quarter of 2023. The opening up of the bidding process was aimed at further ensuring the game goes around the country.”
However, the Kebbi Beach Soccer League super four will be held at the Sanni Abacha Bypass, Birnin Kebbi from January 19 to 21.
