Ndidi and Iheanacho were in action, but the Foxes are now in serious danger of going down after they suffered back-to-back home defeats in the Premier League.

Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho both played their part, but Leicester City’s misery continued as they suffered a 1-0 defeat in their Premier League clash against relegation rivals Bournemouth at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Ndidi started the match, while Iheanacho came on in the second half as Leicester searched for an equaliser.

Ndidi, who cost Leicester a point in their clash against Aston Villa, gave a much-improved performance, setting up one key pass and winning four duels.

Iheanacho also delivered an impressive shift after coming on, firing one shot on target and making one clearance.

How it happened

Leicester started the match in the relegation zone after losing 2-1 to Aston Villa on Tuesday. The Foxes needed three points, but they were lethargic in the opening stages as Bournemouth almost took the lead after Philip Biling’s effort clipped the post.

Billing’s attempt almost woke the Foxes up, as Jamie Vardy almost converted Timothy Castagne’s effort.

But despite the chance, Leicester were second best for most parts of the first half, with the Cherries dominating possession.

The Cherries' pressure would eventually pay off as Billing finally found the back of the net with a beautiful freekick five minutes before the break.

Billing’s beautiful freekick ensured O’Neil’s men went into the break with a one-goal lead.

Leicester fail to respond as Bournemouth win

Leicester came into the second half, looking to respond, but again they failed to threaten the Cherries’ defence.

Foxes’ interim manager Adam Sadler reacted by bringing on Iheanacho. Iheanacho came close to sealing an equaliser for the Foxes, but Neto dealt with his effort comfortably.

The home side continued to search for an equaliser but it was Bournemouth who came close to doubling their lead through Dominic Solanke.

However, the former Liverpool man was brilliantly denied by Daniel Iversen in Leicester’s goal. It did not matter, though, as Bournemouth held on for a 1-0 win.

The result leaves Leicester in 19th position while Bournemouth moved out of the relegation zone to 15th.
