Nigeria’s Wilfred Ndidi demands that the Super Eagles must go all out to reach the top of their FIFA WCQ table in crucial matches against South Africa and Benin Republic

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has urged the Super Eagles to 'go all out' in their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa this weekend.

Nigeria currently sit third in their qualifying group and Ndidi recognises the importance of picking up maximum points against Bafana Bafana to boost their chances of reaching the next World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Super Eagles are looking to revive their 2026 FIFA World Cup hopes under new boss Finidi George after managing just two draws in two matches last year with former manager Jose Peseiro in charge.

"I think it is a game that we have to go all out in because we know where we are on the table and we need to go to at least top of the table," the 27-year-old said told the team's media about the South African game.

"So, these are the games that get us there and I think it's going to be interesting."

Nigeria will face South Africa on Friday before taking on Benin Republic just three days later in two must-win clashes as they aim to climb up the group standings.

Ndidi, who has been a mainstay in the Super Eagles midfield, is confident that the team can rise to the occasion and deliver the necessary results to keep their World Cup dreams alive.

With the backing of experienced campaigners like Ndidi, the Super Eagles will be hoping to put on a strong showing and take a giant stride towards securing their place at the 2026 World Cup in North America.
