The relatively experienced coach comes in as a direct replacement for Micheal 'Skills' Lukyamuzi, who exited the Bugolobi outfit due to lack of a CAF 'A' coaching licence, which a top-flight requisite.

Uganda Premier League newbies NEC FC have confirmed the appointment of tactician Hussein Mbalangu as their new head coach.

The relatively experienced coach comes in as a direct replacement for Micheal 'Skills' Lukyamuzi, who exited the Bugolobi outfit due to lack of a CAF 'A' coaching licence, which a top-flight requisite.

"We are delighted to announce the appointment of Hussein Mbalangu as was coach NEC FC," partly read a club statement released late on Friday.

"Mbalangu a certified CAF A licence holder joins with a vast football coaching/management experience both at the local and international levels," the club added.

Mbalangu, meanwhile, joins in from Lira based side Blacks Power FC, whose stay in the topflight didn't last, as they were relegated having finished 14th, on the 15-team table.

He will have former Onduparaka FC head coach Dudu Bosco as the assistant head coach.

Besides Blacks Power, Mbalangu has coached at Arua Hill SC and Mbarara City FC. He has also had roles at Azam FC in Tanzania and Banadir in Somalia.

Meanwhile his deputy, Dudu, has had technical roles at Calvary FC, KCCA FC U17, Paidha Black Angels and South Sudanese aideAl Nasir FC.

The durations of the pair's contracts have not been revealed by the club, but it's reported to be two years for each.
