The Jogoos secured a 3-0 victory over NEC at the Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku, marking the visitors' first campaign defeat.

Newly promoted NEC FC saw their flawless start in the top flight brought to a halt on Friday afternoon by SC Villa.

The Jogoos secured a 3-0 victory over NEC at the Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku, marking the visitors' first campaign defeat.

NEC FC's assistant head coach, Bosco Dudu, lamented his team's defensive shortcomings and the early goal they conceded during the match.

"We prepared well, but the dynamics changed when we conceded the first goal. Goals alter game momentum and disrupt strategies," Dudu said.

"Before we could recalibrate, we conceded an own goal, so mounting a comeback became difficult."

"We take responsibility for the result; we were defensively subpar, and that's an area we intend to fortify. In the second half, we performed better but failed to capitalize on our opportunities," Dudu added.

Umar Lutalo initiated the scoring spree for the Blues 10 minutes into the game, followed by a self-goal by John Paul Acire in the 42nd minute.

Centre-back Arnold Odong subsequently headed in Ivan Bogere's free kick during added time before the break, extending the lead to 3-0.

Hussein Mbalangu's team is now focusing on their forthcoming home game against UPDF FC, aiming for a win to return to the winning track.

"Our next game is at home against UPDF FC; we anticipate securing maximum points. The league is a marathon, and we are resolved to bounce back stronger," emphasized Dudu.

Meanwhile, Brian Ssenyondo's Kitara maintains their impeccable start with three victories in three games, positioning them atop the 16-team league with nine points.
