El-Kanemi Warriors' new head coach Hamza Abara described himself as a 'rescue master', adding that he would prevent the Maiduguri club from getting relegated from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Earlier in March, Abara left his assistant manager role at Plateau United to fill in the vacant manager role at the Maiduguri club.
El-Kanemi Warriors parted ways with Hassan Abubakar and his backroom staff after their home defeat to Kwara United in February.
Rescue missions not new to Abara
At the moment, El-Kanemi are at the bottom of Group A of the NPFL, with only 5 points after nine matches.
According to Abara, who claimed he was experienced in rescue operations, he will first alter the players' mindsets and the team's character for more favourable outcomes in the second round.
“Life itself is a risk. One must be ready to take risks to succeed. Rescue missions like the one I have embarked upon are not new to me," Abara said, according to Nigerian Sketch.

"I did it at Niger Tornadoes so I am confident that I will achieve the same feat with El-Kanemi Warriors.
“I will do my best to psyche up the boys whose morale is down. It is necessary to change their mentality and also ensure the character of the team is right," he added.
El-Kanemi to play Kwara United next
Prior to Nigeria's Presidential, parliamentary and gubernatorial elections, the NPFL proceeded on a three-week mid-season break.
Upon return, the Borno Army will make a trip to Kwara United for their Week 10 fixture.
