The Super Eagles star is reportedly set to leave Atalanta after his Europa League heroics last season
Reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain will face competition to sign Nigeria international Ademola Lookman as the summer transfer window nears an end.
PSG open Lookman talks after Ramos injury
Reports recently indicated that Paris Saint-Germain have initiated contact with Lookman, hoping to make a concrete move for the Atalanta BC forward.
The French giants are said to be highly interested in Lookman’s versatility, as the Nigerian forward can play anywhere across the front line and would provide cover for the injured Goncalo Ramos who fractured his ankle on the opening day of the new Ligue 1 season.
While no official offer has been made, Lookman’s desire to leave Atalanta this summer has reportedly caused friction within the club, with the Super Eagles star dropped from La Dea’s opening Serie A fixture against US Lecce.
Al Ahli Saudi FC enters race for Lookman
New reports indicate that PSG aren’t the only club vying for Lookman’s signature. According to French publication Sports Zone, Al Ahli Saudi are also keen on adding the Nigerian international to their ranks as they look to bolster their attack ahead of the new season.
The Saudi Pro League side is reportedly interested in pairing Lookman with Brentford FC’s Ivan Toney and Riyad Mahrez, who is already at the club after a 2023 move to the club.
Al Ahli would have an advantage over PSG to sign Lookman as the Saudi Pro League transfer window closes after the European opening, and the Gulf club would also be at liberty to pay more for Lookman in terms of salary and transfer fee to Atalanta.
