Since the incumbent NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau took office in September last year, new boards in the various Nigerian leagues are yet to have been established.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has disclosed that in a month, it would set up boards for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), the Nigeria National League (NNL), the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) and the other league governing bodies.

Nigeria's football governing body made this known in a communique from an executive committee meeting held at the NFF secretariat on Monday, April 17.

Why are NFF setting up new boards?

The tenure of the boards of the various leagues had expired when the term of the former NFF President Amaju Pinnick came to an end.

Since the new NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau took office on September 29 of last year, new boards are yet to have been established.

Interim boards were, however, set up to oversee the smooth running of various sectors of Nigerian football.
