France international N’golo Kante dropped jaws with his stunning strike for Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Professional League, and it has left fans of Chelsea, his former club, feeling jealous.

The 30-year-old midfielder recently made a move to the Gulf after spending seven seasons with the Blues, winning both the Premier League and Champions League, the FA Cup, as well as a Chelsea Player of the Year gong.

The former Caen midfielder has had a consistent level of steady performances with his new team, but in their most recent game, the 2-1 victory over Al-Fateh, the 2018 World Cup winner, took it up a notch.

Kante is typically a destroyer whose calling card is ball-winning; the former Leicester star is not one who would be described as twinkle-toed, but his goal against Al-Namothaji was reminiscent of classic number 10’s.

N’golo snapped onto a loose ball, displaying quick feet to sidestep his marker, before curling the ball into the top right corner to win the stiffly contested tie for his team.

Chelsea fans react to the goal

Clips of the finish made the rounds on social media, with football fans fawning over the aesthetic qualities of the goal.

Chelsea fans, however, lamented, saying the player did not show such abilities when Stamford Bridge was his home.

"He couldn’t do that at Chelsea,” a fan said, as reported by the Daily Star.

Two others said: “Saudi have Kante playing like prime Philippe Coutinho.“ “How come everyone shoots from outside the box when they’re not playing for us?”
