Former Vipers SC skipper Nicholas Wadada has secured a move to Tanzanian side Singida Big Stars, extending his stay in the country for at least two more years.

The developments come after the right-back's contract with Ihefu FC expired at the end of the recently concluded Tanzania Premier League season.

Wadada, who has spent the last five years in Tanzania, joined Ihefu last season after exiting giants Azam FC, a team he joined in 2018 from Vipers.

He has had a hugely successful spell in the country as he was also named their Premier League's best defender in 2019.

That year, he was also among the nominees for the Most Valuable Player of the year, before eventually losing out to Simba SC and Zambian star Clatous Chama.

At Ihefu, having gained promotion only a year ago, Wadada helped them to sixth in the Premier League, collecting 39 points in 30 matches.

About Singida Big Stars

The club, based in Singida, Central Tanzania, was founded in 1972 but started to catch the eye of the football faithful in the 1990, but played in the top-tier for the first time in 2000.

In the recently concluded 2022/23 campaign, they finished fourth in the league after amassing 55 points in 30 matches.

Under former Uganda Cranes player Matia Lule as head coach, the club hosts her matches at Namfua Stadium, in Singida.

Wadada joins two other Ugandans there; left-back Shafik Batambuze and Billy Kiggundu who serves as Lule's deputy.
