Niger Tornadoes are pushing for a ticket to the NPFL Super Six and are just two points away from with four matches to go.

Coach Abubakar Bala has promised Niger Tornadoes supporters that the club is not ready to give up on its ambition to pick one of the tickets for the Super Six in the NPFL.

Bala said this after Tornadoes stole a valuable away point in a four-goal thriller against Enugu Rangers in an NPFL week 14 encounter at the weekend.

The Ikon Allah delivered a solid second half performance inspired by two-goal hero, Idris Munir, to come back from the dead to hold the Flying Antelopes to a 2-2 draw in Awka.

Tornadoes to keep fighting

Ikon Allah were forced to dig deep to avoid defeat on the road by their hosts Rangers who had a strong start in the entertaining match.

A blistering opening half an hour saw the Antelopes take a deserved 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Chiebere Nwobodo and Kenneth Igboke.

However, after the break, it was Niger who wasted no time as hero of the day, Munir reduced the deficit in the opening three minutes with his first of the game.

Niger Tornadoes boss, Abubakar Bala has set his sights on a place in the Super Six.

And just before the hour mark, Tornadoes were level with that man again, Munir, getting his second of the game.

After the match, a visibly elated Bala told the media that his Niger boys will keep fighting to ensure that they achieve their goals of making it to the Super Six.

“Of course, a point is a plus, especially coming on the road,’’ He said. “A plus because our ambition for the season is to be among the qualifiers for the Super Six.”

Rangers let twice before Tornadoes came back to share the spoils.

“We will not relax and relent, we will keep pushing until we achieve our aim.”

Ikon Allah close in on Super Six spot

With the result against Rangers, Tornadoes are not too far away from their aim as they sit fifth on the table.

Tornadoes are just two points behind third-placed Doma United, who occupy the final spot for the playoff with just four games left in the regular season.
