Uncertainty surrounds the salary of new Nigeria Super Eagles boss Finidi George as contrasting figures emerge following his appointment.
Former Nigeria Super Eagles winger Finidi George was officially unveiled as the national team's new head coach on Monday, signing an initial 12-month contract with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
However, reports have differed on the financial terms agreed for Finidi to take over the hot seat, with the 53-year-old's potential earnings a source of confusion.

Finidi’s salary as Nigeria Super Eagles coach
Prominent Nigerian photojournalist Pooja Media claimed on social media that Finidi will earn a basic salary of $45,000 (around £35,000) as head coach.
But other reports have suggested the ex-Nigeria international could be paid around 15 million Nigerian Naira (approximately £25,000) for the role.
If either figure is accurate, it would make Finidi the highest-paid Nigerian coach in history, dwarfing the typical 2 million Naira earnings of previous local managers.
There has also been conflicting information regarding Finidi's potential backroom staff and how much they may earn as his assistants, with Pooja Media stating they will be on a "pay-as-you-go" contractor basis with no fixed salaries.
The NFF is yet to officially confirm the finer financial details of the deal to appoint the legendary former Super Eagles winger as the national team's new boss.
What is known is that Finidi, who earned 62 caps for Nigeria and was part of the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations-winning side, has signed an initial one-year contract through to the 2025 AFCON.
His first task will be to revive Nigeria’s shaky 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, with South Africa and the Benin Republic matches slated for early next month.
The NFF are likely banking on Finidi's iconic status and experience working as an assistant to Jose Peseiro to help restore pride in the struggling Super Eagles set-up.
But questions still need to be answered over his salary expectations and backroom staff budget as he looks to build a new era on limited financial resources.
