Nigeria striker Asisat Oshoala has explained that there is a story behind every hairstyle that she rocks.
The six-time African Player of the Year has grabbed attention over the years due to the numerous hairstyles that she spots going from blonde, pink, blue, red to plain black.
She has also celebrated various milestones in her career and personal life with new hairdos but she insists every colour she dons signifies something she might be going through at that particular moment.

With Asisat Oshoala winning her record-extending sixth Women's Player of the Year at the CAF Awards 2023, here's revisiting her wins through the years.
“It is very simple to be honest, I just love to have fun with colours,” Oshoala told journalists during the CAF Awards gala in Marrakech, Morocco this week. “I like pink, I like different colours. I tell stories with my hair, a lot of people do not know that about me.”
“Whatever colour you see on my head, it signifies what I am going through at the moment. Right now, it is pink, [it means] everywhere is bright.”
Oshoala rocked an all green outfit as she was handed a record-extending sixth African Player of the Year Award and explained what inspired the look.
“Today, I want to celebrate everyone so I used my outfit to celebrate my country Nigeria,” she added.
Considered one of the best, if not the best, African player of her generation, the Barcelona Femeni striker has dominated the women’s game on the continent, receiving the CAF award in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022 before beating South Africa’s Thembi Kgatlana and Barbara Banda of Zambia to bag the latest accolade to further cement her status.
Oshoala helped Barcelona to the treble of league, cup and Champions League last season and also bagged the Golden Boot Award in the Spanish women’s top division after scoring 27 goals.
