Nigeria's Mikel Obi has been doing his best to get former club Chelsea to bring compatriot Victor Osimhen to Stamford Bridge.
Nigerians have been effusive in their praise for former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel after it emerged that he has been working tirelessly to convince his ex-club Chelsea to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli.
Osimhen, 25, has made his intention to leave the Serie A club clear, with several top European teams, including Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, and Manchester United, interested in securing his signature.

However, Napoli's hefty release clause for their prized striker has so far deterred potential suitors from making a concrete move, with the club putting a deadline on the transfer.
Enter Chelsea legend Mikel, who has revealed that he and former teammate Didier Drogba have been making a concerted effort to persuade Osimhen to join the Blues.
Nigerians have been quick to heap praise on Mikel for his efforts to get his old club to sign the in-demand Nigerian international.
"I love the way Mikel Obi keeps marketing Victor Osimhen to Chelsea both personally and on social media, you will just know he's a big fan both of the player and his former club, Chelsea," one fan commented.
Another added: "Nigerian supporting Nigerian. I love the way Mikel refers to Chelsea as 'we'. Ian Wright is another Arsenal legend player that does that anytime he talks about Arsenal, it's an indication that they love the club dearly & will do anything to defend the club. Drogba & Mikel are really doing a good job on Mikel."
"Oga has 20% of the deal and you think he shouldn't sell his market," joked one Nigerian supporter, suggesting Mikel may have a financial stake in Osimhen's potential transfer.
Others were more direct in their praise, with one fan declaring: "It's not about big fans but the reality of what these teams need, if Osimhen walk into any top team in EPL other than CITY, they'll win the league."
Mikel and Drogba's efforts to bring Osimhen to Stamford Bridge have not gone unnoticed in Nigeria, with the country's football fans delighted to see their icons using their influence to help a fellow Nigerian secure a dream move.
