The talented youngster is expected to link up with William Troost-Ekong after leaving Manchester United as a free agent.

Former Manchester United youngster Shola Shoretire is poised to embark on a new chapter in his career, with William Troost-Ekong’s Greek club PAOK reportedly reaching a verbal agreement to sign the talented forward.

Despite interest from clubs in England, Spain, MLS and Saudi Arabia, the 20-year-old is now expected to travel to Greece and finalise the switch next week, departing Old Trafford as a free agent.

If the move materialises, per a Fabrizio Romano post, Shoretire will link up with fellow Nigerian international Troost-Ekong, who has been a key figure for PAOK.

The Super Eagles defender recently scored a crucial goal in the club's UEFA Champions League qualifying clash against Bosnian side Borac Banja Luka, helping them secure a 3-2 first-leg victory.

Shoretire, who is still eligible to represent both England and Nigeria at the international level, has been highly regarded within the Manchester United youth setup.

Last season, he won the Premier League 2 Goal of the Season award for his impressive strike against Chelsea, showcasing his talent and potential.

The move to PAOK will provide Shoretire with a new platform to showcase his skills and continue his development.

The Greek club, having won their domestic league, have earned a place in the second round of the Champions League qualifying playoffs, offering the young Nigerian-born star an opportunity to compete at the highest level.

As Shoretire prepares to embark on this new adventure, Manchester United fans will be keen to see how the talented forward fares in the next chapter of his career.

The transfer is seen as a chance for Shoretire to maximise his potential and potentially earn a future return to the Premier League or even make his mark on the international stage with the Super Eagles.
