The victory secured a commanding 6-1 aggregate lead in the final stage of the qualifiers.

Nigeria's U17 girls, the Flamingos, secured their ticket to the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup finals in the Dominican Republic after a 2-0 victory over Liberia.

The victory secured an impressive 6-1 aggregate win in the final stage of the U-17 World Cup qualifiers.

Harmony Chidi steals the show

Nigerian striker, Harmony Chidi, was on fire as she added two more goals to her already impressive tally, bringing her total to a record-breaking 13 goals in the qualifying series.

Chidi wasted no time, scoring just four minutes into the game with a well-placed shot past the Liberian goalkeeper. While a goal-fest was anticipated, some good goal scoring opportunities weren't converted.

Peace Effiong and Shakirat Moshood both came close, with Moshood even hitting the crossbar.

Despite the missed opportunities, Nigeria remained in control. A defensive slip-up by Liberia late in the second half allowed Chidi to bag her brace and solidify Nigeria's victory.

The eighth FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup finals will be held in the Dominican Republic from October 16th to November 3rd.

The Flamingos will look to continue their impressive form on the world stage.
