Nigeria's second division reveals modules for promotion, relegation

The league was divided into the Northern and Southern Conferences into four sub-groups: A1, A2, A3, and A4 for the Northern region. The same is true for the Southern region: B1, B2, B3, and B4.

Nigeria's second division league, the Nigeria National League (NNL), has outlined the guidelines for clubs being promoted to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and demoted to the Nation-Wide League (NLO).

The league was divided into the Northern and Southern Conferences into four sub-groups: A1, A2, A3, and A4 for the Northern region. The same is true for the southern region: B1, B2, B3, and B4.

According to the NNL rulebook, eight clubs from the NLO will be added to the NNL, while 12 teams will be demoted at the end of the season.

In the same vein, four shall be received from the NPFL, and the same number will be promoted to the NPFL from the NNL.

Promotion and relegation Modules

The best teams with the highest number of points and goals in each of the eight subgroups at the end of the season will advance to the NNL Super Eight for promotional play-offs.

The top four teams in the Super Eight Play-Offs will be promoted to the NPFL.

The last teams in each of the eight groups will be immediately demoted to the NLO, the third-tier domestic competition.

Furthermore, the second-to-last teams in the eight groups shall go for relegation play-offs to determine the four teams to complete the twelve teams to be relegated from NNL to NLO.

The NNL shall also offer a suitable location for the Play-Offs for relegation.
