Following a series of tests and consultations, football under floodlights has finally been given a greenlight at KCCA FC's home, the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
In an updated April fixture released by the club, night football has been catered for, with their first match under the lights slated for Sunday against UPDF FC.
Also, a blockbuster against current table leaders SC Villa will be played under the floodlights as well come Sunday, April 23, already hinting at an orgasmic experience in the pipeline.
It should be noted that KCCA had initially scheduled to have Maroons on Saturday as their first game under the lights, but the plan still needed to come to fruition as FUFA still required approval. They went on to draw 1-1 with the Warders.
On Thursday last week, FUFA issued a statement that cautioned clubs intending to host matches in the night, asserting that they risked losing points in case of poor lighting or a more than 45-minute blackout.
In having night football, KCCA will start to feel tangible dividends of their partnership with sponsors Chint Electric.
The country has this season had a feel of the game under floodlights, with Vipers SC's St Mary's Stadium Kitende hosting each of Simba SC and Raja Casablanca in the CAF Champions League at night.
