Harambee Stars midfielder Richards Odada will have to return to his parent club in America following the conclusion of his loan deal in Denmark.
Harambee Stars midfielder Richard Odada will not earn a permanent move to Danish club Aalborg despite being part of the squad that helped earn them promotion to the top tier.
Odada joined Aalborg on loan from MLS side Philadelphia Union at the start of the just-concluded campaign with an option to making the move permanent.
The switch came after the central midfielder had endured a frustrating spell in Philadelphia where he was overlooked by the first team and he had to contend with opportunities in the second-string side.

Seven Kenyan players who could secure big-money moves abroad
Pulse Sports highlights the Kenyan players who could be moving to clubs abroad on big-money transfers after an impressive 2023-24 campaign.
Aalborg therefore offered him a new lease of life and started his spell in Denmark well, featuring regularly for the side, before reduced minutes in the latter stages of the season, but the club has opted against making the move permanent.
“The loan agreements with Richard Odada and Emmanuel Toku respectively expire at the end of the season. Kenyan national player Richard Odada is thus returning to Major Soccer League club Philadelphia Union, while Ghanaian Emmanuel Toku has Belgian Oud-Heverlee Leuven as his employer,” Aalborg said on the departure of Odada and Ghanaian Emmanuel Toku, who were both on loan at the club.
The club’s Sporting Director Ole Jan Kappmeier added: “Richard and Emmanuel have each contributed to the team and our promotion, for which they should receive a big thank you. However, in both cases, we have agreed to part ways after the season, and both Richard and Emmanuel are wished all the best in their respective careers.”
Odada scored four goals and provided one assist in 22 games across all competitions for the Danish club and returns to Philadelphia in a stronger position after showing what he is capable of when played consistently.
The 23-year-old was among a number of foreign-based players who checked into the Harambee Stars camp this week as they prepare for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Burundi and Ivory Coast.
