ATHLETICS Man of the moment Noah Lyles compares running style to Usain Bolt's
The 26-year-old, who stands at 5 feet and 11 inches , believes that height does not matter in sprint races unless you learn how to carry it correctly.
“It was all just a thought that he might not be able to run the relay, so when we came to it, Brandon is who we replaced him with. I had never done a hand-off with Brandon, and Brandon was practising the fourth leg when I wasn’t in the race.
“So we went to the bat on the last day and I did (just) one hand-off with Brandon and that was it ‘cause Fred (Kerley) said he wanted to do a handoff with Brandon and it left Brandon tired, so we only got one hand-off together and I was like, ‘it is what it is’, I’m either gonna get it or I am not’.

ATHLETICS Ferdinand Omanyala & Noah Lyles make their choice for Women’s World Athlete of the Year award
World 100m and 200m champion Noah Lyles and Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala have cast their vote for their preferred Women’s World Athlete of the Year from the 11 shortlisted.
“Technically, the second leg runs the most amount of meters and I ran the second leg last year (in Oregon), but we learned very quickly that you need to finish strong I have the highest top speed and I am the 200m champion, like, you are not going to find somebody who can have tire topper than me and can hold on.
“So it does not matter where you are in the race, I’m going to hawk you down or I am going to open up a gap.”
