Man United fans on social media have singled out one player for special praise after their win against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Nottingham Forest fell to a 2-0 defeat against Manchester United at the City ground on Sunday, April 16, in the Premier League.
The hosts were hoping to put an end to their awful run of 9 consecutive matches without a win when they hosted the Red Devils on Sunday.
United were without two key men in the team as Marcus Rashford and Lisandro Martinez were both ruled out due to injury.
But Erik ten Hag’s men still had more than enough to outclass the hosts on hostile ground.
The Red Devils created lots of chances in the first half and eventually got rewarded as Antony broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute to give the travelling fans something to cheer about.
Forest struggled to impose themselves in the game and went into the break trailing by a slender 0-1 scoreline.
United started the second half well as the visitors looked to double their advantage.
However, there was not much Keylor Navas could do to prevent the hosts from conceding once more as Antony found Diogo Dalot in the 76th minute, doubling the visitors lead in what eventually proved to settle the contest at full time.
The win for Man United sees them go three points clear of fourth-placed Newcastle in the race for 3rd and 4th spots, which would guarantee Champions League football next season.
Steve Coper’s Forest, meanwhile, are currently in danger of a quick return to the Championship as the defeat leaves them just two points off 19th-placed Leicester City and four points off bottom-of-the-table Southampton.
