Super Eagles keeper departs Enyimba
In a statement released by the club, they expressed their gratitude for Ojo's contributions, saying:
"Enyimba can announce that captain, Olorunleke Ojo, will depart the club at the end of the season. Over the past three years, Ojo has been an integral part of our team, contributing significantly to our growth and success."
The statement went on to highlight Ojo's crucial role in helping the People’s Elephant win the prestigious NPFL title last season under Finidi George, the club’s record-extending ninth title, the most by any Nigerian club.
However, the club's loyal fans have been left reeling by the news of their beloved captain's impending departure, with many questioning the decision and the reasons behind it.
Ojo's final game for Enyimba will be on Sunday against Plateau United in Aba, and the club has urged all their supporters to come out and show their appreciation for the goalkeeper's dedicated service to the club.
The move to Sudan represents a significant change in Ojo's career, and it remains to be seen whether he will be able to continue his impressive performances and cement his place in the Super Eagles squad.
This transfer saga is sure to be closely followed by football followers across Nigeria and beyond.
