With the 2023 regular season of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) coming to an end, the Interim Management Committee (IMC), the body responsible for the league's structure have promised a smooth end to cap all gains that have been made so far.
After 17 match weeks, the 2023 regular season is presumptuously expected to be concluded on Sunday, May 14, with the top three teams from the league's two groups, vying for the title and qualification places to the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.

Results on Sunday saw Plateau United fall out of the running to participate in the Super 6, while Group A leaders Bendel Insurance secured their place.
Possible desperation from clubs to be extinguished, IMC says
According to Davidson Owumi, the IMC's Head of Operations, the interim body are looking forward to ending the season on a high.
“We are happy so far with the performance of the clubs, the conduct of the majority of our match officials and the fans in most venues," Owumi said during a session on Tuesday, as reported by NewsTap.com.ng.
“It’s never perfect and we are working to plug all gaps, especially at this last stage when desperation has set in.
"We have reviewed all outstanding fixtures in relation to how crucial the stakes are to the clubs and we are confident of nipping any misadventure by any club administrator or even our match officials," the IMC official added.
